The KFS Learning Resource Center (LRC) mission is to encourage secondary students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information in order to help create a sustainable, peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The secondary school LRC is a shared resource catering for students and teachers in MYP and DP. All areas in the LRC are designed to actively stimulate students’ curiosity and love of inquiry, reading and learning.

The LRC collection encompasses world literature and popular fiction in a variety of genres and formats. We foster lifelong reading habits and boost literacy skills through reading initiatives such as book club, D.E.A.R, book fair and author visit throughout the school year. The secondary school community can freely access a combination of approximately 10,000 fiction, nonfiction and reference titles in a variety of formats. The LRC subscribes databases for research and enrichment purposes. The Teacher-Librarian works closely with homeroom and specialist teachers to schedule the pupils’ use of the LRC.

The LRC is open to all students, faculties and parents during the school hours, lunch breaks and is a space where private student and research can take place with the support of the Teacher-Librarian.
